Brief

For this project I wanted to create something that would help those who are disabled to access daily life in cities in a more effective way. I wanted to focus on this as through my own experience with my family, as different accessibility methods are needed it has become visible to us how limited these resources are. Through research I found several resources that provided information about locations and guided routes in a city about various accessibility that those with disabilities would need to know. These websites inspired me to create an app that would allow these ideas to be easily accessible on the go.

My goal was to be able to make something that users would be able to personalise to their own personal needs and would be able to add to themselves, as I am not disabled myself I know I do not see the same accessibility issues as those who are and then need to have solutions available to them.

Overall I believe I was able to create a successful outcome with a concept that I am passionate about and believe would be extremely beneficial to those who would use it, it would allow those who need these accessibility facilities and features within daily life to pinpoint where they are and filter out details that are not necessary to themselves and only see the information most important to them. It would also be a space that is developed by those who need it, as someone who isn’t disabled I am fully aware that there are small details that I wouldn’t notice around accessibility but for those who need it, it could change everything.
